Health & Wellness
Dedicated to equipping under-served youth with the tools, resources, and community needed to take charge of their mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health.
Children impacted by economic struggles are more likely to experience psychological and emotional trauma throughout their upbringing linked to serious impacts on academic achievement and later development through adulthood.
With children spending more time in school than they sometimes do with their own families, schools are a vital factor in identifying and addressing their health needs.
However, under-sourced schools face many systemic challenges that influence successful intervention. The American Academy of Pediatrics recognizes the “vast unmet need for mental health services” for economically and systematically disadvantaged children. This is why mental health and wellness are the basis of LBTL’s mission.
